About the Course

The one day spear forging class

This course will cover all of the basic princibles on the design and forging of a early medieval spear. We will demonstrate all of the steps involved and help where needed to ensure that everyone has a finished spear to take away with them. Time and wearther permitting, we might even put them to the test.

If you are a reenactor looking to make your very own combat safe spear then just let us know and we can help you make something suitable for your historic period and groups combat regulations.

This is an excellent course for groups and does require team work to move the metal where you want it to go.

This is also open to re-enactors who wish to make a blunt fighting

What's included in the price?

All the tools, materials, P.P.E (safety glasses, hearing protection, apron, etc)

Free tea, coffee and squash provided but please bring your own packed lunch.

You will need to wear work type clothes, no nylon or synthetics etc. (Jeans and T shirt are most appropriate, expect sparks & flames)

Also safety boots are preferred other wise leather or walking boots are best. No open toed footwear is allowed in the forge for safety reasons.
