5 Day Sword Making Class

Five days. One sword. The ultimate expression of the blacksmith's craft. This extended course gives you the time and tuition to produce a truly exceptional finished sword — with far greater detail, refinement and personalisation than is possible in three days. Small group size ensures there is lots of one-to-one tuition and supervision.

If you are serious about swordsmithing — if you want a blade you can hand down through generations — this is the course. The team gives each student plenty of attention over five full forge days. The result speaks for itself.

You will design and craft a sword of your choosing to your design. We will be on hand to offer advice and guidance throughout the process ensuring your design is achievable. We will demonstrate all of the techniques and processes and be on hand to help out where needed to ensure every guest leaves with a sword they are proud of.

1. Day 1: Design and Forging the blade
2. Day 2: Grinding and refining Geometry, distal taper and cross-section
3. Day 3: Forging the Hilt elements, Cross guard, pommel
4. Day 4: Heat treatment, tempering and polishing
5. Day 5: Handle assembly and final finishing
6. Personalised design throughout
